Dream Interpretation: Red Spider

Visitor's Dream: 'I had a dream that I can't make any sense of. I was in a two-storey house and someone (can't remember who was with me) warned me that there was a spider in the room. I freaked out a little because I'm scared of spiders and then ran upstairs.

The next moment I saw a red spider moving very fast towards me. It wasn't particularly big, but it looked almost like a cross between a grasshopper and a spider.

I woke up in fear.

I don't understand the dream and I'm not sure if there is a message for me, but I do find it fascinating how we can create creatures in our dreams that we've never seen in real life.

Hi,
I think your comments toward the end of your post say a lot about this dream.
I perceive this dream is about a fear you have created in waking life. To me, this dream is highlighting what you perceive to be something to be feared, may not actually be what it seems. That, you have enhanced the potential danger as a result of your own way of thinking. Heading upstairs in the house also suggests that regardless of where you seek "safety", this fear will be able to manifest itself where ever you go because you carry it with you - in your mind. The dream, in my view, is attempting to tell you that you need to address not only the fear itself, but how you have made it worse than it is - probably by continually seeking refuge as opposed to confronting your distortions.
