Flavius Marcianus

Roman Emperor Marcian (Flavius Marcianus) the period 450-457.

At the time Marcian was elected to become Emperor, the Roman Empire had been decimated in certain areas due to conflict with the Huns, who were under the command of Attila.

Attila the Hun died in 453. The circumstances surrounding his death are fuzzy but the general consensus is he died via suffocating on his own blood caused by a bleeding nose. On the night of Attila’s passing, Emperor Marcian stated he had had a dream whereby he saw Attila the Hun’s bow break.
